Welcome to The Reasoning Blog - Blog.
From antiquity, some 2,700 years ago, this invitation came to us, “Come! Let’s reason together…” It’s come; let’s consider. Let’s kick this around, throw in our two cents worth, maul it over, and see what can be learned and lived. It’s like watching a hockey game, eating pizza, and, between the good shots, those watching are philosophizing when someone says something that strikes an awareness, the light bulbs come on, and there’s an agreement, “Ya, that’s right.” “Never thought about it before.” “That makes sense.” “Ya! Because that’s true, then…” and new insights are received, considered, and developed into something useful for life.
Truth in the old tribal is “…that which does not move.” Every time you or I return to this truth, it’s unchanged through all generations and all cultures. It always is what it is, never changing. It may be seen from many different directions, but the truth is.
Truths are learnt not only from dialogue and discussion but also from stories. Everyone loves a good story, and a good storyteller delights in telling the story as it relates to past and present events, giving information about self, family, others, community, country, and our world. Stories can be fun and laughter, of good events and yet life’s disasters. They are our stories and should be told to pass on teachings to help others live life. Stories pass on heritage and wisdom and reveal who we are, both the good and the bad, the heroes and those who are who they are.
In the reasoning blog, we want to reason about what is right. At this time, a lot is floating around that's called Truth. Yet, it's only a blushing of Truth. Because of these red-faced truths, we've inherited an innate ability to doubt. To question the honesty of information and the ones giving it.
We live in this mystery, attempting to know the Truth and trying desperately to discover Untruths to maximize good and limit disasters.
To help discover Truth, the examination of both Truth and Untruths is needed. Truth and honesty are only found as untruths and lies are revealed. No! It's not a set of rules and mega lists of regulations we're comparing or measuring against. Instead, it's looking at the characters of Truth and Untruths and agreeing that what is true is true.
