Tribal Wisdom!

True tribal life holds great and fundamental principles for life. These fundamental principles begin with the understanding that the tribe's purpose is for a full and complete life. This complete life is for each member and the whole tribe. Tribal existence is based on rigorous tribal propriety that focuses on the child. For without the children, there is no sustaining of the tribe.
When tribal propriety is understood, it becomes the base for life in the tribe. The tribes' understanding and living of tribal propriety makes life worth living. From inhabiting these true-life eternal values of the tribe, they are the guiding force within the tribe. These eternal values are then lived with great faith, real hope and a deep love proven through all of time by their character. In the tribe, this character is developed from conception to adulthood.
Character, then, is the supreme purpose in a child's life. For this purpose, this character, this noble life, endures for all times. For a child, a tribal member becomes known for who they are when their purpose in life is livid. The greatness they are born with is seen only when it is achieved. With this noble character, based on tribal propriety, each child lives a full life, however long that may be. As each tribal member lives their life, the tribe continues through all events, making life worth living.

Schoenoplectus tobernaemontani!
Common name: Soft-stem Bulrush!

Soft-stemed Bulrush

What a name! I'm sure glad my parents didn't give me its name. Can you imagine the names at school? Short name is Tani!

The soft-stem bulrush thrives on the water and sediment it grows in. When the water and sediment dry up, the soft-stem bulrush shrives and becomes dormant. But when the rains come, it again flourishes and feeds the ducks and other creatures that feed on it. We are like the soft-stem bulrush. When our family and tribe shrivel and die, we are no longer productive. We, too, are cared for when our family is flourishing.
