Spring Snow!

Squeak of door,
    excitement more!
Outdoors bright,
yet there’s a chilly, quiet light!

Tinkling freezing rain,
    awakes sleeping weathervane!
Large fluffy goose down,
    floats lazily to the ground!

Spruce trees mantle’s white,
    slows downward flight!
Leaves and needles, yet,
    brown, grey and wet!

Willow, apple and shrub,
    cutting frost cannot snub!
Sky's now bright,
    in this moment's delight!

Tricking eves,
    streaming water leaves!
Wet snow quietly slips
    from emerging tulips!

Thoughts and emotions hunch,
as each step squeaks and crunch!
Robin and chickadee,
    joyfully sing so free.

Goldfinch a pair,
    feed without despair!
Shy Eurasian collared doves,
    sing songs of love!

Sagging branches lets,
    reflective water droplets!
Now small snowflakes come,
    as rain they become!

Snowy wet weight lags,
    as branches wave and sags.
Large fluffy clumps,
    descend with muffled thumps!

From sidewalk warms,
    ghostly mist charms!
Moist, chilling breeze tingles,
    as fresh excitement mingles!

Squeak of door,
    now warmth and contentment more!
